NATIONAL PARK OF ZANTE EXCURSIONS
The Marine Park of Zakynthos (Greek- Εθνικό Θαλάσσιο Πάρκο Ζακύνθου) was established in December 1999 and it is Greece’s first protected institutional area. To explore this hidden part of the island you can choose an organised tour or you can explore it by renting a boat. The tour includes 2 swimming stops in Marathonisi and in some hidden caves. Along the way we will stop to let you take photos of the turtles. One of the unique features of the southwestern coast of Zante is its small heavenly beaches, bay and coves, combined with the mountainous landscape, steep cliffs and mysterious caves. It really is a captivating landscape that’s not to be missed
THE SHIPWRECK AND THE BLUE CAVE
The shipwreck is the most photographed beach in Greece and is only accessible by boat. It is one of the most famous beaches in the world and a tourist trademark of Zakynthos and Greece. The white pebbles on the beach and the sulphurous caves that lay next to it give the water an electric blue colour.
The blue caves consist of consecutive chambers which lead to Great and Little Cave, who owe their names to the blue waters, as objects below the water appear to have a blue hue.
You can reach this spot by taking an excursion or by renting a private boat.
