The most famous clubs are the Rescue, Cocktail & Dream, Zeros and Sizzle, all 4 are located a few meters from each other. Admission to some events is free whereas others can cost up to € 30. Laganas Beach is a stretch of sand that extends to merge with nearby Kalamaki Beach, making for a walkable path of about 4 km. The water, although less spectacular than in other parts of the island, is still very warm and always transparent, with a shallow and slowly degrading seabed that does not exceed a depth of 5 meters even hundreds of meters from the shore! The beach is one of the best equipped on the island; seaside restaurants and bars are open until 2 am and also rent deck chairs and umbrellas.
Laganas is part of the Zakynthos Marine Park (zone B). In fact it is not uncommon to encounter a Loggerhead (Caretta-Caretta) turtle while swimming only a short distance from the shore. Don’t forget to bring a mask.
The port of Agios Sostis, just outside Laganas, is the departing point for numerous Loggerhead (Caretta-Caretta) turtle spotting excursions, for taxi boats to Marathonisi Island and for tours of the most beautiful places in the Marine Park. Rent a boat
If you want to spend a special day with your friends, family or partner, there is nothing better than renting a boat and exploring the less crowded coves of the Marine Park. You can choose between renting a boat that does not require a boat license, visiting hidden coves and the famous Marathonisi Island, or renting a boat with an expert captain, who will guide you on a breathtaking tour of caves, beaches and coves. More information about Boat Rental.
Pedalò / kayak
An excellent solution for those wanting to engage in turtle spotting is renting a pedal boat or kayak. There are kiosks on the promenade where you can rent them for €10/h. An hour should be more than enough to successfully spot turtles, since they usually rest on the seabed. Tip: the bottom of the bay is sandy; if you notice a dark spot it is most likely a turtle.
