Where to do water sports in Zakynthos

Zakynthos Island has over 120 km of coastline, but water sports are only available on the eastern side, as high-speed boating is prohibited in the southern area (Marine Park) and the western coast has no facilities large enough to host them. St. Nicholas Watersports and Banana Watersports, both located in Vasilikos, are certainly the best equipped and most famous water sport establishments on the island.

What water sports are available

Zakynthos offers a wide selection of water sports. Among the most requested are:

Fly Fish: Fly Fish is a mix between a banana boat and a kite. One of a kind, it allows you to jump and bounce at full speed on the waves and, with enough speed, rise above the water! Adrenaline-fueled experience.

Parasailing: parasailing allows you to fly up to 50 meters above the water, in complete safety, for a breathtaking view of the Zakynthos coastline. Towed by a modern speedboat, the large round sail will gently lift you up in the air and let you enjoy the natural beauty surrounding you. Banana Boat: The famous Banana Boat, currently the most popular sea activity on the island, allows you to ride the waves on a banana-shaped inflatable towed by a speedboat. It can accommodate up to 12 people at once, making it a perfect adventure to share with your group of friends. Fun is guaranteed!

Fly Board: the newest addition to the Zakynthos water sport scene is the Flyboard. This ingenious device is powered by a watercraft forcing a powerful water jet through a long, flexible hose attached to a pair of boots, which propel you upward and let you fly a few meters above the water.

Jet Ski: Driving jet skis in Zakynthos does not require a boating license or previous experience. The jet ski circuit consists of a large square in the sea, marked by large orange buoys. There are no speed limits here; You can ride as much as you want, so get ready for an action-packed ride! Fun and excitement guaranteed.

Crazy Sofa: the crazy sofa, towed by a powerful boat, wiggles, turns, bounces on the water, making it an experience suitable for all ages. In recent years, it has quickly become one of Zakynthos’ most popular water sports, as it can offer a relaxing ride for a family with young children as well as an extreme wave-hopping ride for those who want that extra bit of excitement.

In Zakynthos, water sport prices are fixed, but include a small discount when booking for a large group.

Free Shuttle

St. Nicholas Beach Watersports offers a free shuttle, 1-2 times a day, departing from Laganas, Kalamaki and Argassi. For the return, expected around 4.30-5.00 pm, you’ll need to show proof of a food/drink purchase of at least €10.
